Quick reference
How Ateneo QPI is calculated
The calculator follows a weighted average: grades become QPI points, then units decide how much each class counts.
QPI formula
Quality points are each course's QPI equivalent multiplied by its units.
Dean's List
Grade scale
Units matter
QPI is weighted, so a 3-unit class has three times the effect of a 1-unit class with the same grade.
FAQ
Ateneo QPI calculator questions
What is QPI at Ateneo?+
QPI means Quality Point Index. At Ateneo, it is a weighted average where each counted course grade has a QPI equivalent and each course is weighted by its number of units.
What is the QPI formula?+
The QPI formula is: total quality points divided by total counted units. Quality points are calculated by multiplying each course's QPI equivalent by its units.
How do I calculate my semestral QPI?+
Use only the counted courses for that semester, multiply each grade's QPI equivalent by its units, add the quality points, then divide by that semester's counted units.
How do I calculate cumulative QPI?+
Cumulative QPI uses all counted courses you have taken so far. It is still weighted by units, so a 3-unit course affects your QPI more than a 1-unit course.
What is the Ateneo QPI grade scale?+
The calculator uses A = 4.0, B+ = 3.5, B = 3.0, C+ = 2.5, C = 2.0, D = 1.0, and F = 0.0 for QPI estimates.
What QPI do I need for Dean's List?+
For semestral honors, First Honors are awarded for a semestral QPI of 3.70 and above. Second Honors are awarded for a semestral QPI of 3.35 or above but lower than 3.70.
Does PE count in Ateneo QPI?+
PE handling can depend on the context you are checking. This calculator includes an Include PE toggle so you can compare QPI with or without PE units.
Does NSTP count in QPI?+
NSTP is excluded from counted QPI units in this calculator. This keeps the estimate focused on courses that affect the weighted QPI.
Can I import my grades from AISIS?+
Yes. Copy your grades table from AISIS, paste it into the import tool, and the calculator will fill in the grades and units it can read.
Can I check QPI by year or semester?+
Yes. The calculator can show cumulative QPI, year QPI, and semester QPI. You can also export a transparent QPI story card for sharing.
Can I convert QPI to GWA?+
Yes. The QPI/GWA converter gives a quick estimate between Ateneo QPI and a GWA-style scale for comparison, but official records should still be checked with your school system.
Is qpi.alexi.life official?+
No. qpi.alexi.life is an independent student tool by Alexi Canamo. Use it for planning, then verify final records with AISIS or official Ateneo sources.
